Day By Day Itinerary
Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Saadani National Park.
Breakfast is served at the lodge, drive to Saadani National Park for afternoon game drives. Early Lunch served at Chalinze town.
Saadani Park is the place where bushes meet the beach, the only National Park in East Africa situated in the shores of Indian Ocean. It is the place where idle hours of sunbathing might be interrupted by an elephant strolling past. The Park was protected as a game reserve since 1960 then changed as a National Park in 2002 and expanded to 1,062 sq. km covering twice its former area. The Park is located Northwest of Dar es Salaam between the port of Dar es Salaam and Tanga approximately 100km each way. Unfortunately, there is no road access along the coast.
After evening game drives arrive to your camp for relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Tent with a View – Or similar accommodation– FB.
Day 2: Full Day in Saadani.
Breakfast is served at the camp then morning game drive in Saadani. It will take a wide range of grazers and primates seen on game drives and walks. These include, Giraffe, Buffaloes, Warthog, Wildebeest, Red Duikers, Greater Kudu, Eland, Yellow Baboon and Velvet Monkey.
Herds of more than 30 elephants have been encountered in the park and several Lions, Leopards, Spotted Hyenas and Black-Backed Jackal obtain their residence. Drive back to the camp for hot lunch thereafter you can go for beaching activities or relax around the beach.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in Saadani National Park.
Breakfast is served at the camp and then morning and afternoon activities in Saadani.
It will take a wide range of grazers and primates seen on game drives and walks including. Drive back to the camp for hot lunch thereafter you can go for beaching activities or relax around the beach.

Day 4: Saadani to Nyerere National Park.
After breakfast you will be driven to Nyerere National Park. The park is the largest game park in Africa – 4 times the size of the Serengeti. It possesses a diverse landscape from hot volcanic springs, sporadic lakes, channels from the Great Ruaha and Rufiji rivers.
On the arrival in the park check in the camp then proceed to boat Safari. Boat safari in the afternoon is another way of game viewing on the Rufiji River. It offers a unique experience as Nyerere is the only game park in East Africa where this option is available. Rufiji River is one of the most dramatic rivers in Tanzania’s National Parks which is navigable all year round. The chance to leave the vehicle and view game from a boat is one of the things which make Nyerere National Park such a great place to visit.

Day 5: Full Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park.
After breakfast served in the lodge you will have a full day game drive in the park. Nyerere National Park is Africa’s greatest national park that covers a wide variety of wildlife habitats. This includes Lakes, open grassland, Acacia, Miombo woodland and riverine forests.
The topography of the park varies from rolling savannah woodland, grassland plains and rocky outcrops cut by the Rufiji River and its tributaries. The Kilombero and Luwegu which together cover the greatest catchment area in East Africa, which flows from north to south provides the life-blood of Nyerere. Sailing or Rafting down the Rufiji River is a superb way of seeing game.
Evening drive back to the camp for overnight stay Dinner and overnight at Jimbiza Camp. Or similar accommodation– FB.
Day 6: Nyerere National Park – Full Day.
After breakfast you will have another full day game drive in the park. Nyerere National Park is the largest protected wildlife area in Africa. Due to the unique ecological importance, this pristine uninhabited area was declared as “World Heritage Site” by United Nations in 1981.
Nyerere is bigger than Switzerland or Denmark covering an area of about 54’600sq km. Nyerere boasts Tanzania’s largest and most important populations of Elephant, Buffalo and Wild dog in Africa. Almost 60’000 of Tanzania’s Elephant are found there as well as large numbers of Hippos. Other species commonly seen are Lions, Bushbuck, Impala, Giraffe, Eland, Baboon, Zebra, Greater Kudu, etc. Waterbuck, Reedbuck gathers at the water edge of Lake Tagalala linked to the Rufiji River. Nyerere National Park is also a prime destination for Bird-watchers, more than 420 endemic species have been recorded.

Day 7: Nyerere National Park to Dar Es Salaam.
Wake up very early morning, after leisure breakfast then transfer to Mtemere gate for Walking inside the park with the escort of an armed ranger. The journey takes about 2 to 3hours, on arrival to your pick up point you will be transferred back to the Lodge for Breakfast. There after check out of the lodge and drive back to Dar Es Salaam. drive back to the camp for check out and drive back to Dar es Salaam for your flight back home.
